To all the lovely brides

After many emails, I've noticed that being engaged is much like being employeed by hundreds of companies at once! After all, you, the bride-- are a color theorist, a florist, a decorator, invitation designer, peace creator(seating charts are like organizing pit bulls into pens)-- you are the Queen Bee multi-tasker until the sweet relief of the wedding bell march graces your ear. Sure there are the people who do this stuff for you, but t hey are baking the cake ladies-- however-- its your recipe! Their driving the car... your the navigation system. You get the point. So after some careful observation and working with many of the different services surrounding the big day Im going to give you, after such a large demand, my personal reccomendations!

Photography

You spend years planning-- the dress, the cake, the flowers, the songs, the people, the bla bla bla and you have the big day... and its wonderful and beautiful and you go on your honeymoon and you kiss and everything is absolutely beyond perfect.  So you walk to your mailbox in your wonderful new house and your proofs are in... and you think wow... did the photographer pass out and good old aunt murtle steal the camera?

Photography is a very big decision, to me at least, and I have worked with many in the land.  And I will tell you this in no uncertain terms... a great photographer is like pearl at a clam bake.   Not many out there folks!  So I will tell you that out of every photographer I have ever worked with I am simply blown away by the work of Al Romero.  All the ladies throughout my site are photographed by this master of the lens.  He has a way of capturing the raw simplicity and beauty of whatever crosses his aperature.  The timeliness, professionalism, and reliability of his team is simply unmatched.  His company is Digital Memories Forever: www.dmforever.com

DJ Entertainment

Its very easy to pop a cd in a tray, hit play, and walk to the bar.  Its another thing to have the outstanding ability to uplift every single person in a room and have them leaving saying,  "Wow, I think that was one of the best times of my life!"  Golden Note Entertainment is without a doubt THE BEST entertainers out there.  Every time I see a show case my arm hairs take their ritualistic upward stance as I see every face with a huge smile.  They arent just entertainers-- they are mood creators who can guarantee a great time for all.  www.goldennote.com

The Tan Fairy

Ladies, I know you all absolutely adore a sun-kissed glow from head to toe-- but you know what? Is turning into a prune twenty years earlier than you should really worth it? After the trial and tribulations of self tanners and bronzers-- how it streaks, turns orange, messes up all your lovely whites-- I have found a solution!

Airbrush tanning. I am sure at one point or another you have tried the self tanning "booth" and (to me) it gives self tanning a bad reputation. Airbrush tanning is quite different. I will ONLY recommend MARISSA from Beach Bum tanning on route 23 north. If I am the Glam Fairy she is the Tan Fairy. I personally go once a week. You stand there naked with a disposable thong or just alfresco but oddly enough she has an air about her that makes you feel totally comfortable. It's also great because she can contour you with the actually tanning fluid and emphasize any areas you want to pop out-- hello cleavage!!!

So this is what I recommend. DO NOT just go the week before your wedding-- start going now so you can get used to the process. I recommend getting the undercoat which is the toner and the overcoat which is the moisturizer. Both of these add on's extend the life of the tan up until 9 days. They also sell this AWESOME little touch up spray in the front that smells like coconuts and is great to touch up your face. And its fool proof which is perfect for me.

You have to let the tan soak in for about 6 hours so wear loose clothes there and be prepared to look like George Hamilton until you shower. You'll have all these little weird tanning scabby things-- its normal normal normal. Once you shower you will step onto your bathmat looking like you just stepped off the plane from Aruba. Well maybe not really because you'd get arrested being naked on a plane. But still.

Brows

Brows truley frame the face and if you think I am about to rip hairs out of your forehead you are sadly mistaken. However, I have found by FAR the best brow specialist in miles. They say a perfect brow is merely the difference of one hair-- and it true! I have found the big cheese of brows. Her name is Azmeena-- and it totally worth the two weeks you'll wait to get an appointment with her. Would you buy a Degas and get your framing done at Michael's? I think not. So are you gonna spend more money? Absolutely. Is it totally worth the whole new dimension your face will have with or without makeup... TOTALLY. Tell her the glam fairy sent you:)
